B.A.B’s Boxing Against Bullying 5-Week Program for Children 8-17

Program Overview: The B.A.B’s Boxing Program is designed for 5th-8th graders to not only teach self-defense but also instill mental resilience, discipline, and a positive mindset. This 5-week program combines physical training with personal development, helping students improve both their physical fitness and their approach to life. By integrating the Rule of 5, students will enhance their mental and emotional strength while learning to protect themselves physically. Each session includes 30 minutes dedicated to self-defense and exercise, followed by mindset training. The program aims to build confidence, teach the fundamentals of boxing, and reinforce the power of positive thinking.

Program Structure:

Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Students will begin each session with a light cardio warm-up, such as jogging or jumping jacks, to prepare their bodies for physical activity and get energized.

Technique Training (30 minutes): The self-defense and exercise component takes up 30 minutes of every session. Students will learn essential boxing techniques, including fighting stance, footwork, punches, and defense. Training will include hands-on practice using body protector gear and/or mitts to reinforce these skills. Students will also practice self-defense techniques, focusing on both offensive and defensive maneuvers.

Drills: Drills will enhance agility, coordination, and strength. Drills will include punches with coach and agility exercises that improve quickness and reaction time.

Conditioning: Conditioning exercises such as jump rope, squats, push-ups, and core workouts will build endurance, strength, and overall physical health. These activities teach discipline and perseverance, helping students develop the mental toughness needed for life challenges.

Cool Down & Positive Affirmations: Each session will end with a cool-down, including stretching and reciting positive affirmations. This reinforces the importance of mental well-being alongside physical fitness.

End of Session Q&A: Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, review their progress, discuss schoolwork, and reflect on what they are grateful for. This encourages self-awareness and a growth mindset.

Mindset & Personal Development Focus: Throughout the program, students will learn the power of their thoughts. By transforming a negative mindset into a positive one, they will begin to see improvements in their behavior, academic performance, and self-confidence.

This transformation is guided by the Rule of 5:
